Trail Information

Believe it or not, Louisiana DOES have trails! The Louisiana Hiking Club, in following the precedent Crochet's on-line trail guide, has commenced their campaign to compile accurate cartographic and naturalist guides for Louisiana Trails.

Click on a trail below to get information on that trail. For some of these trails, we don't yet have a user review.

50 Hikes in Louisiana

Support our own Janina “Nina” Baxley, a
Louisiana native and a member of the
Louisiana Hiking Club. Her book, 50 Hikes in
Louisiana: Walks, Hikes, and Backpacks in
the Bayou State
, was published in January
2004 and is a wonderful resource for hikers
looking for places to go just about anywhere
in Louisiana. Her book can be purchased
from Amazon or can be found at most outfitters throughout the state.

ATTENTION !

Persons using Louisiana Wildlife
Management Areas or other
department administered lands for
purposes other than hunting and
fishing, such as camping, shooting on
rifle ranges, berry picking, hiking,
photography, bird-watching and the
like, must possess one of the
following: a valid Wild Louisiana
Stamp, a valid Louisiana fishing
license, or a valid Louisiana hunting
license. Persons younger than 16 or
older than 60 years of age are exempt
